Revealing the Backpack
As the vet carefully cleaned the mysterious object, Clara watched closely, her heart in her throat. Slowly, the cloth was peeled away to show a small backpack.
It was bright but worn, with a familiar cartoon character smiling on the front. Clara’s heart dropped when she saw it.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that she had seen this backpack before, perhaps on some news channel or in a report.
