John sighed, realizing he couldn’t deny it any longer. “Alright, yes, I’ve been talking to Emily. But it’s just texts, I swear,” he said, trying to downplay it. Amanda’s eyes flashed with anger. “Just texts? You’ve been calling her ‘Sweetheart’ and leaving huge tips. How could you betray me like this?” she yelled.
John looked away, unable to meet her eyes. “I never meant to hurt you, Amanda,” he said quietly. But the damage was already done.
