The Note
Amanda returned to the café, her heart pounding. She wrote a note, her hand shaking slightly. The note read: “Do you know that John is married?” She waited until Emily was busy, then discreetly handed the note to another waitress.
“Please give this to Emily,” she whispered. The waitress nodded, and Amanda quickly exited the café. She hoped that her plan would work. Outside, she found a spot where she could watch unseen. Her heart raced as she waited, hoping to see Emily’s reaction.
