The Proposal Hints
Amanda began dropping hints about marriage more frequently. She pointed out engagement rings in shop windows and talked about friends who were getting married. “Wouldn’t it be nice to have a wedding like that?” she mused. John would smile but remained noncommittal. “Maybe someday,” he would say, but Amanda wanted more than vague promises.

She wanted a commitment. Her frustration grew, but she tried to remain hopeful, believing that their love would eventually lead to marriage.
