Dave pulled out a tablet to show Mark the math. “Here is the reality. That one roach you squashed released up to 40 nymphs. Those nymphs can survive for a month without food. They just need water and shelter. They hide in the walls where your spray doesn’t reach.” The numbers on the screen were staggering.
“Now, three months later,” Dave continued, “those 40 are adults. If half are female, that’s 20 moms. If each of them drops an egg case… you’re looking at 800 new roaches hatching right now. And in another three months? You’re looking at 10,000. You are sitting on a ticking time bomb. We caught it just before it became unmanageable.”
