Kenya Barris and Dr. Rainbow Edwards-Barris – Together For 21 Years
Screenwriter Kenya Barris has had a wildly successful career with a hand in the acclaimed show Black-Ish and its spinoffs Grown-Ish and Mixed-Ish. He also wrote the comedy Girl’s Trip and was instrumental in creating America’s Next Top Model with Tyra Banks.
Barris is married to anesthesiologist Rania “Rainbow” Barris since 1999, and even though they filed for divorce in 2019, Kenya has since applied for the divorce to be dismissed. Black-Ish is entirely based on the Barris household, with Rania inspiring the role played by Tracee Ellis Ross’s characters.
