George Alagiah & Frances Robathan – 38 Years Together
Born in the British colony of Ceylon, the British newsreader George Alagiah ended up making a name for himself in the motherland. He worked as the editor of the students’ newspaper at Durham University, which was also where he met the love of his life: his longtime wife, Frances Robathan.
Alagiah and Robathan tied the knot in 1984 and have remained inseparable ever since, welcoming two children to the world in the meantime. A North London resident, Alagiah was featured in many news shows in the past, including most notably “One O’Clock News,” “Six O’Clock News,” and “BBC News at Ten O’Clock.”
