Rupert James Hector Everett is an English film actor and screenwriter who has appeared in a number of well-known Hollywood films. The actor was raised as a Roman Catholic and came from a military family. Thanks to Rupert’s scene-stealing portrayal as Julia Roberts’ confidante in My Best Friend’s Wedding, he rose to prominence.

Everett’s performance opposite Roberts catapulted him into a slew of leading man roles. Shakespeare in Love and A Midsummer Night’s Dream are two of his Shakespearean films. He plays Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband in the film adaptation. Rupert also wrote two memoirs, Red Carpets, and Other Banana Skins and Vanished Years.
