Edward James Olmos, known popularly as “Eddie,” is an American-Mexican actor and director. Olmos was born on February 24, 1947, to a Mexican immigrant father and a Mexican American mother. He grew up wanting to be a professional baseball player and went on to win the Golden State batting title. During his adolescence, he became the lead singer for a band called Pacific Ocean. Olmos began his acting career in the late 1960s, appearing in many small productions before his big break portraying the narrator, El Pachuco, in the play Zoot Suit.
The Miami Vice actor has been married thrice, ending in separation. At 75 years of age, Olmos enjoys his life at his mansion in L.A.
