He was born on April 21, 1963, in Washington, D.C., and his father was a policeman. While attending college in Maryland, King began appearing in small roles on television shows. His major break came when he landed a role in ABC’s NYPD Blue. He stayed with the show for seven years and then gave blockbuster hits such as National Treasure and Desperate Measures.
