Andrew Cockburn | Age 75

Andrew Cockburn is a British journalist, writer, and television producer who has been working in the media industry since the early 1970s. Additionally, he has written several books on military affairs, alongside producing numerous documentaries and movies. A recipient of numerous awards, Cockburn currently works as a contributing editor for Harper’s Magazine.

His 1981 PBS production The Red Army, the first in-depth look at the serious flaws in Soviet military might, was recognized with a Peabody Award. Cockburn’s 1982 book The Threat – Inside the Soviet Military Machine, which covered the same subject in more detail, was released by Random House. Later, he wrote numerous pieces about the military might of the US.
