Jocko Marcellino | Age 72
John Fair Marcellino, aka Jocko Marcellino, was born on May 12, 1950. He is the fifth of six kids. The “Cheese Nun” Noella Marcellino is Jocko’s younger sister. Passionate about music from the start, at 7, he started playing the drums, and at age 13, he started his first band, “The Miltones from Milton, Massachusetts.” With saxophonist Lennie Baker, he joined “The Pilgrims” at age 17.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Jocko performed with the band “Sha Na Na” at Woodstock in the summer of 1969. Interestingly, between his international performances, Marcellino also completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University and, afterward, his master’s program in Theater at New York University.
