Joan Van Ark – Born in 1943
Joan Van Ark is an American actress who is widely recognized for her role as Valene Ewing on the primetime soap opera Knots Landing. She is a life member of The Actors Studio and made her Broadway debut in 1966 in Barefoot in the Park.
On February 1, 1966, Van Ark married news reporter John Marshall, who later became a correspondent for two decades at KNBC-TV and was awarded both an Emmy and a Golden Mike Award. Additionally, Van Ark is an avid long-distance runner and has participated in 14 marathons, even making the cover of Runner’s World.
