John finds it peculiar
Emily’s husband, John, found Max’s sudden behavioral change peculiar. He’d come home from work to see Max practically glued to Emily’s legs, nose twitching with nervous energy.
‘What’s up with Max?’ John asked one evening, brow furrowed. ‘He never used to be this clingy.’ His concern grew as he noted the dog’s persistent vigilance, eyes always scanning their surroundings, as if expecting something bad to happen any minute.
