Shanga Hankerson – Owner of Restaurant Chain
The name of the famous singer, songwriter, actress, author, and businesswoman, Gladys Knight, has been all over the media in 2018 due to the incident involving her son, Shanga Hankerson. Hankerson owns a chain of chicken and waffles restaurants in Atlanta that bear Knight’s name. In 2016, two of the restaurants have been raided and Hankerson has been accused of stealing money in sales and withholding tax. Gladys filed a lawsuit against Shanga. As of 2017, the mother and son have reportedly cut all business ties and was ordered to remove her name from the eatery.
