Approaching The Lioness
Jake, our tour guide, crept closer to the lioness, his steps slow and purposeful. “Easy now,” he murmured, hands slightly raised as if in surrender.

The whole safari group watched, breath bated, as this seemed reckless to many. Jake was intent on calming the distressed animal. “I’ve got you,”
he whispered, ignoring our whispered pleas to return to the jeep. His eyes were locked on the lioness.
Meanwhile, we all exchanged worried glances, wondering if he’d end up as dinner.
