When the captain refused to move, Clair pushed him aside and set the boat at full speed toward the dot. “Clair, what are you doing?”
the captain yelled, stumbling back. “Getting Ethan back!” she snapped, eyes fixed on the horizon.
The boat surged forward, engine roaring as it cut through the waves. The rest of the team held on tight, bracing against the sudden acceleration.
They couldn’t deny her determination, even if they weren’t entirely sure of her course.
