Ethan yanked off his goggles to clear his blurred vision, hoping for a better view. “Come on, come on,”
he muttered, trying to stay focused despite the panic rising in his chest. He treaded water and searched intently, looking in every direction.
He had to spot them soon, before his strength ran out. He strained his eyes, hoping to see the boat’s familiar shape cutting through the waves, but all he could see was the endless horizon.
