As I watched from afar, they celebrated their supposed ‘ownership’ like it was set in stone, blind to the sandcastles they’d built.
My stepfather’s name wasn’t mentioned once in the will or any legal paperwork. Yet, he strutted around, puffed like a rooster in his ill-fitting castle.
