Airtight Will
My grandmother left it to me, bypassing her own daughter entirely. The will was airtight and yet quietly tucked away among storage boxes in the attic.
Nobody had bothered to notice it except me. While my mom thought it was lost somewhere in the lawyer’s office during probate, I had it safe and sound.
I smiled knowing that the document would hold up anything they tried to throw at me legally. It was my shield.
