Maintaining Composure
Paula approached, her smile tight as she assessed my bonnet-clad head. “Exciting day, isn’t it?” she commented, trying to sound casual.
I nodded, offering a smile. “Absolutely, can’t wait for everyone to see what’s planned,” I replied, keeping my tone light and breezy.
Inside, my heart raced, but outwardly, I was the picture of calm.
