Relief Washes Over
Once I rounded a corner and Megan was out of sight, I let out a long, slow breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
The tension in my shoulders eased as I blended into the crowd, my mind shifting from dodging Megan’s probes to the more pressing issue—fixing my hair before the wedding day dawned.
The sense of urgency returned, but for now, at least, I was free to focus.
