Digging into it further, I found mentions of turmoil outside the workplace. Conversations here and there indicated she carried a lot from home to work.
With every thread I pulled, it seemed more like her defiance wasn’t aimed at me personally but stemmed from her own battles.
The more I found, the clearer it was that jobs weren’t her main struggle—it was everything else.
