A sudden interruption
Just as I pieced things together, the doorbell rang. The sudden jolt pulled me back to the present. Who could possibly be here now?
Wiping away a tear, I walked to the door, each step heavier than the last. Opening it, I was met by a man I didn’t recognize.
“Can I help you?” I asked cautiously. Without hesitation, he revealed something that left me speechless.
