Hearing the sirens
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Sophie heard the sirens. She ran to the living room to wait for them to arrive.
She could hear heavy footsteps running up the stair of their apartment building and stopping in front of their door.
“Sophie?!” one of the men yelled. “I’m in here!” she answered.
