The Hippo’s Trick
The baby hippo that drifted closer earlier was no longer calm. Instead, it twisted in the water, flipping backward in a clumsy but graceful motion. Its body rolled and rose again, and with a sudden kick, it leaped partly out before splashing back down.

High-pitched squeals echoed through the glass. Julia’s mouth dropped open. “Is it… doing tricks?” she asked, half laughing.
