As Mark closed the final distance, he paused to take it all in. The object was large, white, and oddly shaped, resting unevenly in the sand.
Its design reminded him of something technical or industrial — possibly even aerospace-related — though he couldn’t place it. For a moment, he simply stood there, trying to understand why something like this would be sitting alone in the desert.
