Executing the plan
The plan worked, and the gorillas began to follow the rangers’ lead, moving away from the river. Elliot’s heart pounded as he made animal calls from a safe distance.
The rangers clapped and shouted, creating a cacophony of noise. The gorillas, visibly confused but curious, moved towards the deeper parts of the forest.
Slowly but surely, they left the river, heading into thicker vegetation where they would hopefully be safer.
