Gorillas not in sync
When he reached the river, he noticed the gorillas were now scattered and not as synchronized as before.
They seemed more relaxed, perhaps unaware of his presence. Elliot could see some of them lounging by the water, while others foraged nearby.
This gave him a glimmer of hope. If they were distracted, he might be able to slip away unnoticed. He just had to time it right.
