Signing the papers
Tensions escalated one evening when Alex insisted she sign some papers, claiming they were necessary to finalize an estate issue. “
Mom, we have to get this done,” Alex pressed, holding the documents out towards her. I felt cornered, uneasy with the urgency in his voice.
She glanced at the paper, feeling as if each line of text further fueled her uncertainty. The sudden push to sign made her instinctively wary.
