The Digestive Bonus
This one might be TMI (Too Much Information), but it’s real. My digestion improved. I learned that lying completely flat on a firm surface allows your internal organs to settle into their natural positions. Soft mattresses can cause your midsection to scrunch up, compressing the stomach and intestines, especially if you are a side sleeper who curls into a fetal ball.
By sleeping stretched out on the floor, I was giving my digestive tract a straight shot. The acid reflux (heartburn) that used to plague me at night disappeared. I wasn’t needing antacids on my nightstand anymore. It turns out that posture isn’t just about bones and muscles; it’s about giving your organs the room they need to function. My gut health was thanking me for the change.
I thought the experiment was over. I was wrong.
