The Doctor’s Visit
Several months later, during a routine checkup, my doctor asked how I had been feeling overall. When the topic of sleep came up, I mentioned that I had changed my sleeping setup and felt more comfortable in the mornings.
He listened, nodded, and reminded me that sleep quality, posture, activity levels, and stress all interact in complex ways. He didn’t offer endorsements or prescriptions—just the standard advice to pay attention to what my body was telling me and to avoid anything that caused sharp or worsening discomfort.
That was enough for me. I wasn’t seeking approval or validation. I just wanted to continue doing what felt sustainable and comfortable in my daily life.
