The Posture Ripple Effect
The effects started bleeding into my workday. I noticed that when I sat at my desk, I wasn’t slumping anymore. My back muscles, strengthened by the active resistance of the floor all night, were holding me up effortlessly. I caught my reflection in a shop window during lunch and realized I was standing taller than the people around me. I didn’t look like the tired, defeated office drone I used to be.
My colleagues noticed, too. “Have you been working out?” someone asked. “You look broader.” I hadn’t lifted a single weight. I was just finally standing at my full height, with my shoulders rolled back. The confidence boost was undeniable. When you carry yourself physically with strength, you start to feel mentally stronger too. I was speaking up more in meetings. I felt more assertive. All because I slept on the ground?
