Being Neighborly
Harold looked genuinely surprised, pausing for a moment before replying, “Oh, Edith, it’s just that Sherie is a single mother with two young kids. I thought I could help her out a bit, especially during winter. You know, being neighborly.”
Edith wanted to believe him, but the nagging feeling persisted. She decided to let it go, for the time being, not wanting to create unnecessary tension. Little did she know, this was only the beginning of her suspicions.
