From a Private Curiosity to a Shared One
I hadn’t planned on turning it into a spectacle.
At first, it was just Elena and me standing in the yard, staring at the tree like it might finally give us an answer.
But curiosity has a way of spreading.
One neighbor slowed down while walking past. Another leaned over a fence. Someone waved and asked what we were looking at.
“That bulge has been there forever,” one of them said. “I always wondered about it.”
That’s when I realized this wasn’t just my question anymore.
And if everyone was curious, maybe it really was time to find an answer.
